Tanfoglio mags cracking and falling apart ...

Hi,

I got a bunch of 9mm Tanfoglio mags, and the latest group were factory pinned to 10 with a cut through the body, all the way around the mag, except the front and back dimple which limited it to 10... As I suspected, from the very first moment I saw that, they are falling apart - cracking through the dimple, rendering the mag useless....

So, be warn - if you're shooting Tanfoglio (or using Tanfoglio mags in other guns), you might want to stay away from any mags with a cut through the body like that.... My first one fell apart today, after only maybe 2 months of light usage...

What a really bad/stupid idea, that cut is...

Haha.. 2 months.. you must have been babying them.. my first went at 30 rounds, the second at about 200.. got the rest of the welded together to prevent any more..

FYI: Tanfolio has changed thier mag design, and the new ones are not cut as far, and should be ok (50+ rounds so far in both , and no probs)

if you weld then together they aren't IPSC production legal...

But not everyone shoots production.. plus, you only have to use the "virgin" mags in a match.. you can still use the broken ones for practice
