They are made by Armscor in the Philippines, it is dentical to my Armscor Citadel I bought at half the price but mine came without an adjustable rear sight.
I'd be taking Sti over Tanfoglio in 1911....they do make some serious competition pistols..but their 1911 left me a little 'meh'..jmho.

Ah....that explains the sub 1K price tag.....it also begs the question Are there other, very similar, guns for less money without the Tanfoglio name on the slide?
So on par with Sam and seraphim
I'd take Armscor over SAM any day, based on 2 of the former and 3 of the latter I've had
Interesting. I knew one Philippine 1911 manufacturer had a better rep than the other but couldn't remember which. Is it Armscor that used to make the Spartan for STI? The Spartan had a decent reputation back when STI was still offering them.
Yes - it was my understanding that the Spartan was made by Armscor. I had one and it was very nice. I've an RIA gun currently and the fit/finish and general harmonious working relationship of the parts is far beyond the 2 different brandings of SAM that I've had... I've had 4 SAM guns, now as I recall.
I'm not sure how the other badge engineered ones from either company are or if some are better than others.

Apparaenty many of the major parts for the STI Trojan were made in the Philippines, with the final product being assembled stateside in TX.I'm pretty sure the frames are from the Philippines but the fitting is done in Italy.
