Tanfoglio

wow I haven't noticed that at all with my Stock II. mag catch reverses fine, and works just as good either way.

No problem with my Model "L". Mags go in and stay in. Mag changes are much faster. I am sold on the right side mag release. Wish I could switch my 1911's.

Take Care

Bob

Has anyone here reversed the mag release button on their Tanfoglio? I have pictures of what to do but not sure I want to attempt it unless I have some hope of retaining flying springs and little parts. Sean any advice?<snip>

I can't add anything more to the good info that's alreadly been written here by Daryl, Rob and Rob.

Just one thing to add, in case people didnt' realize it.

with the right side release, there are 2 things which make it a lot faster (that I have found)

1) you do not need to take your thumb off the thumb rest, so your grip on the right hand doesn't change.

2) with the release on the right hand, all you need to do is to squeeze the grip to release the mag. My middle finger rests right on top of the mag release, (if you look at the middle finger it has three "pads/sections". the one closest to the plam rests pretty much on the release..) once you get used to just squeezing (and you build up a bit of thick skin on the area) it's easy and quick to release. you don't need to shift your right hand grip on the pistol at all..

Ok, ok. Lots of responses, and I can feel the IPSC in me starting to come out again. Since I have people tlaking, can anyone give examples of some types of holsters that they have found to work well with the Limited Custom 2? I use a CR Speed rig for my CZ TS, but recently it broke on me, so if I decide to get out shooting again, I'll need another.

It broke? How?
I'm using CR Speed and like it just fine. They need a little "tuning" to get them to fit the Tanfo's properly, but it's not hard to do.

Ghost works well also, but get the one with the muzzle peg if you don't like your gun rocking in the holster.

Or try a Speedsec,..still my favorite,...Ghost is what I am using for both my stock2 and LC.

Guga Guga Guga Guga, best holster out there as far as I'm concerned. talk to CRAFM about getting one. Frank Nardi is a great guy.

Ghost....since you are a left hand shooter I can let shoot with my guga for your STI so you can try but I'm sure you won't like it...because it's a pure right hand device.....the lock get unlock when you kneel down and drop my gun twice a few years ago(during walk through)....now I use the Ghost no drop with the same gun position...

It got dropped, on the concrete. Cracked. It wasn't in the best shape when I got it.(Used purchase). I just used it to run my latest Black Badge course, and it held up ok, but I only shot 20 rounds. I would never use it at a match. If I actually shoot another match, it will be with a new holster. I much appreciate all the advice on different holsters, and will put it to good use. Actually, there's a match tomorrow, and if I get off work in time, and it doesn't rain, I might head on out and just inhale a little gun smoke:)

I like the Ghost,...I find the straight down angle works best for me..I would also recommend the Speedsec for any gun. IT held my HK great. You only have to either sweep the locking lever on the draw,..or leave it unlocked for the draw after LAMR

Sorry you couldn't make the match Dansy. Work seems to always get in the way. At least it has with my new job. At about 10:00am Central time, the skies cleared, and it's very sunny and warm. I'm sure their having the same weather 30 miles away at the match. I hope so anyway. I just got off work myself, but decided to visit with my wife for the first time in 4 days. Somehow I don't think she would understand if I just took off to the range for the rest of the afternoon. And it's not like I haven't done it before:) Anyway, I'm sure we'll see you at provincials. 17 stages, and 305 rounds sounds right up your alley. Safe trip back.

Well I'm to test flight an airplane so life is good....and I'm testing my ride back...or West jet ;) either way I'm back at the latest Thursday on leave to put some more rounds before driving to the nats next week.... :)

tanfoglio break easy. i tell you that i shoot in italy and here we use them alot and easy to find. the recoiling spring breaks easy. cz are simple to open up and clean the italian woman champ has cz75 she had tanf before.she loves more cz.

giorgie:

I can't speak for others. but I have about 12000 rounds through mine and not a single part replaced on the gun (except fibre robs on the sights)

the mags however could have been 'pinned' in a better way. IMO
