Tanfoglio

I am over 10,000rds with my Stock2 and nothing has broken,...I have only replaced things with high wear...(extractor and extractor spring) as preventative maintenance. I have not noticed anything wrong with my Recoil spring.

Another reason to go with CZ - parts are way easier to get...

Hunh? I have had absolutely NO (= 0) problems with getting any parts for my tanfoglio's....Sean at Freedom Ventures has parts in stock.
I imagine Josko, Frank and others can get the same parts or might have the same parts in stock.

I always order extra parts for all my guns,....and Sean has always had parts available.

tanfoglio break easy. i tell you that i shoot in italy and here we use them alot and easy to find. the recoiling spring breaks easy. cz are simple to open up and clean the italian woman champ has cz75 she had tanf before.she loves more cz.
Giorgie, since the majority of your posts are Tanfoglio bashing, I have to assume you have some sort of prejudice in this regard and your comments should weighed accordingly.

35,000 rounds through one gun in a season and no breakage. Not as much through the gun this year, though I had a sear spring relax on me the other day. But honestly, I had probably pushed it too far in tuning it...trying to find that magic "how much is too much" limit of personal expression. Fifteen seconds on the bench and back in business.

All guns...and I do mean ALL guns....break parts eventually. They are machines, and in IPSC we subject them to varying degrees of abuse ranging from moderate l up to insane. Extractors and springs are like tires on a car; they are high-wear items that SHOULD be replaced periodically or as needed as part of a sensible maintenance protocol. If this isn't done and things start to break it isn't the guns fault, it's the shooters fault. Nothing lasts forever.

I have limited experience with my Tanfoglio "L" model. I only have about 6,000 rds through the 9MM top end another 1,000 odd through my .40 cal top end. Does another 1,000 or so rounds through my .22LR top end count as well. Nothing has broken yet and the gun remains as accurate as my Dlask customized Norinco. I can keep my rds inside of 2" off a rest at 25 yards which says more about my lousy eyes then the gun.

As to service well Sean has yet to let me down yet. While I haven't needed parts I have had an appetite for more mags which come in the mail within three days from date of order. Not sure how they could come faster given Sean is in Halifax and I am within 50K of tidewater on the Pacific.

I qualified Sharpshooter in ESP with the gun in IDPA, which for me, is about the best I am going to do so what is not to like!

Value, well the guns are versatile, I have three top ends for my gun. Just slide them on and go play. For playing the games they are excellent value. They handle my lead bullets with aplomb. No leading in the polygonial barreled .40cal after 150 rd matches.

Like I said I have limited experience with the gun. But for the amount of shooting I do, my Tanfoglio meets my needs. If you participate in either IDPA or IPSC you can do a lot worse than a Tanfoglio but might have to look hard to find a gun that performs much better.

Take Care

Bob

I have both, a CZ shadow and Tan StockII. I like the Tan better . Factory parts are easy to get for both guns. The only advantage to CZ is the optional springs you can get for the slide and the hammer. But if you store the Tan with the slide locked back and dry fire a lot you can "weaken" the springs.
