So I have my new toy and now its time to start thinking of loads. The rifle is a 300 WM with 1 in 10 twist shilen just ready for some 200 gr pills.

Question I have is where to start looking for a bullet. From what I have read a tangent ogive if more forgiving that a secant but you loose a little speed. Berger VLD's, Eld X's, Sierra match kings etc..

What would you guys recommend as a good place to start ?

( Paper punching is the purpose. For now )

I take it you are kind of new to reloading? Stick with SMK for now, they will be the most forgiving, learn about all the other mistakes you are going to make along the way. Then once you are confident that you know exactly what you want to see on paper then switch to the latest high BC bullet. Struggling with a load can be very frustrating and high BC bullets can be finicky. Over the years I have seen all kinds of reason why guns will not shoot, one example was found a guy having trouble looked at his load and found his primers were not seated properly, he was not cleaning the primer pocket.
