FWIW; when I recently switched (last year) from Open Division to Standard I also switched from the 2011/STI format to Tanfoglio. For me it is a better ergonomic fit. Reasons to consider the Tanfoglio LC:
Ergonomics: best grip design in the industry; it fits the hand like a glove.
Lower bore axis: less flip.
Light reciprocating mass: fast cycling speed.
Polygonal barrel: shoots cheap plated bullets as well as expensive jacketed bullets for a 50% reductions in on-going costs. And feeds anything.
Pivoting trigger: once acclimated to them, they are VERY fast to shoot. And you can get a light pull with lots of sear pressure, so it's not likely to follow.
Needs very little work...if any...out of the box to race, as the gun is built for IPSC: some guns need trigger jobs and some don't depending on what kind of pull you like. Checkering, mag funnel, ambi-safety....all are standard.
Extras: ships with a locking hard case, two extra recoil springs, a cleaning kit, and two front sights (interchangeable post and F.O.)
Cost: you won't find a better gun for the money.
There are other reasons I think it's a better bet, but if you want to know what they are let me know back-channel and I'll fill you in.
Good luck with your choice.
