Canadian Forces Issue Tank / Combat Vehicle Crew (CVC) Pistol Holster.
Popping up and down through the Armoured vehicle hatches

in the best of conditions can be tricky and any piece of you or your equipment
that can snag up on an immovable object like a Tank hatch will stop you abruptly.

In efforts to make entry and extraction as smooth as possible the CF supplied Shoulder holsters for CVC.

Is the retention loop for the pistol velcro only, or is there a snap button as well?

Its not "new" its plastic slide buckles are closer to the 1964 pattern hardware than anything the CAF produced in this century.
The pistol retention strap is velcro with 2 Pull the Dot brass snaps. and it doubles back to allow for some 'umph!' The 2 Mag pouches share the same Velcro and Brass snap fasteners. This is a unique item we have only 1 and its in exceptional condition.
