I am looking for any leads that could direct me to someone why may have a spare WW1 Mauser Tankgewehr bolt as well as a rear sight slide assembly...(I know: :onCrack: ) Detailed photos of the bolt parts and rear slide with measurements would also be welcome! If you have a few boxes of 13mm ammo, I would snatch those too! (double :onCrack:)

Thanks!!

I'm trying to source a bolt from Europe... There was one far sale a couple months ago in the USA but it sold... Had I known! I don't have pics at the moment... I'm currently removing the rust from inside the barrel with Evaporust so the rifle is strapped vertically and with the barrel plugged so that only the inside of the bore is in contact with the solution... The rifling seems strong but that barrel has not seen any oil in decades!

I ordered a repro bipod from IMA and a very helpfull CGNer told me my rear sight is probably the same one used on the Mg 08/15 and to look toward Europe for a bolt... There is an Austrian company (Dorfner Waffen) that may be able to supply new brass in 13 x 92SR as well as bullets! And reloading dies are available from CH4D...

So, only the bolt assembly is really problematic...

I have one deactivated round that my grandfather brought back as a souvenir. Good luck finding your boxes of ammo!

The rifle is still strapped upright to soak the barrel... I will post pics once I have drained the EvapoRust. Hopefully I will have my repro Mg08/15 bipod by then.

T67 7 18......

Um...that brought an un-id'd shell sitting on top of my safe to mind....so I went to have a peek, and yes, I have a similar shell.

Headstamp on mine is T67 4 18....

Bullet's in, but the primer (BERDAN) is absent....and shaking the shell reveals no sound of powder moving in the shell, but that doesn't mean it's not there....

Pics to follow (maybe tomorrow night.)

I was kidding about the boxes of shells! Although there was a wooden crate for these rounds on sale a year or two back in the USA... The box had individual holes drilled for each rounds...

Yeah, The T-Gewehr was a lucky find at the Longueuil gunshow last weekend... And I am quite surprised nobody snatched it up before I got there. Not as if that rifle was hidden or anything! I had to make an emergency ATM withdrawal! The seller has promised me he would contact me if the bolt turns up... I hear they sell around 3000$ in the USA without the bolt...
