The day has finally come. Tomorrow we start our adventure to the dark continent. We have a few days in the bright lights (Winnipeg) then we are off - arriving in Dar es Salaam on the 5th. A couple of days there to address the jet lag issues, then we begin hunting cape buffalo in the Selous Game Reserve on the 8th till the 17th returning to Dar on the 18th. I checked the weather on the internet last night, and the lows are in the high 40's to the low 50's, and the highs are between 80-85 degrees. Humidity while high in Dar es Salaam - about 83% it is reported as low as 52% near the hunting area.
From the 19th till the 27th is the non-hunting portion of the trip. We will tour the northern part of the country which includes - Arusha, Ngorongo Crater, Olduvai Gorge, the Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Mt. Meru, and Tarangire. We had considered a trek up Kilimanjaro, however to do it properly takes 17-21 days, and we would of been unable to extend our stay that long.
I'm sure we will return with pics to share - and a couple of good hunting tales to post.
