Was up to the Canadian Tyre in Freddy last night to ogle the new wave of SKS rifles [ $179.00 ] and the SVT 40's [ $269.00 ] and noticed they have quite a few Tapco 5/20 round mags [ black ] for $27.00 ea.They also will be stocking other bling bits in the future including tacticool stocks and crates of 7.62x39 and 7.62x54r at a very attractive price so I was told.Had to snag a SVT as it was a 1942 with a AVT stock 6 port muzzle brake and machined for a scope mount .I could not find a matching # mag tho. :( Got to go back and look through the whole crate and there she was exactly the rifle i wanted. There was x 1 crate of SVT's and x 4 crates of SKS's. The rifle came with 1x oil bottle/1x ammo pouch/1x tool pouch with tools/and a sling.Staff was very helpful and the purchase was too easy as the gun dude just glanced at my FAC and confirmed the rifles serial # wrapped it in a garbage bag escorted me to the service desk and left $203.97 behind.

Which location of CT did you see the Tapco mags at?

Thanks

I agree you call BS and it isn't you get what you deserve. Sounds like great prices you are one lucky man. Its great to see CT dealing again. Please keep us posted johnny it helps keep the real BSers honest .

Right with johhny on this.
Way too many pple throwing offensive remarks around for no good reason at all.
Stuff is said too often on here that would NEVER be said face to face..........Have a nice trip johhny.
And yeah..CT around here is really pushing some guns out now, even in Oromocto !!!!

Good to hear they're doing well on sales. I'll hoping to make a run up that way late next week and I'm eager to check out one or both of those stores.

Canadian tire pricing is so out of whack. Some stuff is cheaper , some is so much higher its funny. My kid wanted the co2 beretta px4. Canadian tire = $200. Any online air gun retailer ~$80. Stupid. Ammo seems to be higher here as well compared to Walmart. Flip side is crappy tire has much more selection.

I Must admit that at 55$, if ever a retailer is selling them that price there would be a bit of dishonnesty there. Even if it weren't for the CT 27$ mags, some other retailers are selling 34$. Sure demand may be high and supply low as it is, but it get's me hoping many CT'S will take this route and set the record straight for those seeking abnormally high profit margins.

I made a stop in to the Smythe St. location on the way back from a run to McAdam yesterday, and I've gotta say I was impressed. I picked up one of the Tapco 5/20 mags for $27.99, and they had several more available. There were still plenty of SKS and SVTs on hand for the prices mentioned earlier in this thread. Also, I noticed the Tapco SKS stock chassis were priced at $93.99, if anyone local is interested.

After checking that store out, I'm really hoping now that at least one of the Saint John area locations will follow suit soon and start to carry firearms as well.

In my area the cheapest you can get those Tapco SKS 5/20 magazines is $35.00 at Thorsby Arms & Ammo. Everywhere else charges $40 to $55 which is insane.

PS - People don't like these magazines because they have been "sealed" off permanently but you can disassemble them for spring replacement or cleaning by drilling a 3/16" inch hole where the "U" is at the bottom where it say's Made in USA. Careful not to go all the way through, just enough to get past that plastic cover, then you can use one of the bits in the SKS cleaning kit to push down the release notch like a regular Tapco US market magazine an then just slide the cover off.

Last I checked it's not illegal to take apart the magazine, only to modify it to accept more than 5 rounds. Someone correct me if I"m wrong
