Got a tapco mag the other day, and when looking at it I saw it seems to have a big rounded plastic piece attached to the bottom of the mag baseplate. There seems no way to disassemble it for cleaning. Or am I missing something?

Is it glued onto the metal baseplate? Is this mag not able to be disassembled for cleaning? It just seems like an odd design...

You drill a small in the middle bottom and then use a tool to release the floor plate. There's also YouTube video that someone made.

It's also an old design as the new mags don't have this cover so no drilling is required. You drill a small hole on or right next to the U of the USA. Then you can insert a little Allen key or screw driver and depress the button and slide the whole bottom off. I did this to 3 of my mags after I saw the YouTube vid on how to do it.

i tried that but the metal rivet in my mags prevented me from pushing the button. I just wipe them out with damp rag when im done with them, if they break, i buy more or go back to regular, don't worry about it so much.
