I have my SKS in a ATI Strikeforce stock. I found the metal 5/30 round mags to feed crappy with this stock and I was thinking about just buying an Intrafuse stock. Basically i am wondering how the TAPCO mags work with the Intrafuse stock. How they feed, seat etc. I am not interested in using a dremel to modify my ATI stock to accept the TAPCO mags. I am just wondering of anyone who else who has their SKS in a tapco stock and how the mags work.

EDIT: Want my SKS to be mag fed, not stripper clip.

Yes, there are threads here as well. It's something Tapco SKS mag users encounter and often have to remedy.

Its a rifle to rifle basis. Has nothing to do with the stock the gun is wearing and everything to do with the varying tolerances between the rifles.

Awesome. Hopefully i have the same luck. I have a Russian SKS, on the tapco website it says requires modification.

When I tried my Tapco in my two wooden stock SKSs (both russian) the same mag fit one fine but I had to modify the inside of one stock to get it to fit, I used a small chisel to remove a bit of the wood inside. FYI after the mod the original mag fit back in ok as well.

It was my older one that needed modding, but just the wood stock, when the same rifle goes into an Interfuse it fit fine

I would expect a slight amount of fitting with that date, but likely it would be pretty minimal. In my experiance most after 53 are pretty close to drop in.

Biggest issue I had with both my 50 Tula and Type 56 was the bolt catch not dropping freely when the ramp is depressed (mag loaded) Shaving the mags follower spine was necessary for use in both rifles.

This is exactly the issue i am having. The tapco mag seats perfectly. It is just the bolt catch is not dropping freely like it does in the crappy metal magazine.

Yes, take a file and swipe the mags spine over and over in small increments until the catch drops with the ramp.
