Hi Guys,

Just wondering if this could be done, can I replace the butt stock on a Tapco SKS stock. My idea is to put a Magpul AR style stock on the Tapco. Is this possible and have you seen it done.

Thanks.

Yes you can put a magpul stock on it, but some of the older tapco stocks are commercial spec and the newer ones are mil-spec. Be sure to find out which one you need before you buy one.

Nothing wrong with the SKS platform. It is solid and reliable. Easy to clean, lots of parts to keep it running and just as much Barbie Doll dress up stuff as any AR or VZ or CZ. My only complaint is the effin mag system but that is immaterial in a world of 5 round pinned mags.

Can you please point the direction of theses Barbie Doll dress up sites, cuz all I saw was 4-5 stocks and that's about it, nothing even close to the AR platform. I'm not expecting a lot, but if there is something new out there, I'd would really appreciate it if you could tell me where to look, Thanks.

I was told by Tapco when i asked that if your tube is smooth it is milspec, if it is dimpled it is commercial.

I can confirm that if the side of the tube is smooth => mil spec. If side of the tube is dimpled => commercial spec. Also that Hi Caliber Dave knows everything about our product line :)

I recently installed a leftover commercial spec ATI on my Tapco. There is some wiggle, but not noticeable when the rifle is shouldered.
Much more comfortable than the intrafuse, and I repurposed a part I wasn't using. So it was a win/win.
Remember, milspec will only fit milspec tubes, but commercial stocks will fit both. (With a little play on a milspec tube)
