Tape residue on the end of barrel

Could anyone tell me how to get tape residue off of the muzzle of my barrel. It has a matte finish and I just want to make sure I dont wreck it.
I used tuck tape if that makes any difference. I think next time I will just use good old electric tape

grab some adhesive tape remover. You can get it at a pharmacy. It is used for removing residue from bandaids. Im sure it would not hurt the BBL.

That or super hot water would likely melt the residue.

WD-40 takes off most tape residue and won't wreck your finish.

I have some Goo Gone from Crappy Tire that's made especially for removing sticky stuff like glue, tape adhesives etc. Vegetable oil work believe it or not. But any light gun oil, WD40 works too.

Hmmmm.... The extra fine steel wool is not going to hurt your barrel or blueing contrary to that reply but will speed up the removal of the residue. Use the Varsol or WD-40 - whatever is handy.
