tape shotgun muzzel ?

I know that lots of guys tape the muzzle on their rifle to keep snow and stuff out of the barrel. Used to use a condom in the CF.

Is it advisable/safe to do the same on a shotgun?

So, is it everyone's opinion that the same principle that makes it ok with rifles applies to shotguns as well ?

Shotguns are low pressure things compared to military rifles, so you are safe enough. Safer than letting snow in .

Been doing it for years, never haad a problem with shotgun or rifle.

been doing both rifle & SG for years. peace of mind when shootable game shows up. saved me a huge cleaning job 1 day when i slipped & .410 muzzle wound up buried a foot deep in clay.

Thanks for all the replies. I know one time I stuck my baikal into a swamp. I checked it and sure enough had weeds in the barrel. Lucky I noticed the muzzle going into the muck or it could have been bad.

Going to get some of those finger cotts .
