Here is a thread I started about VLD performance which should give you some idea of what match bullets will do on large game.

I just read the thread you started last year and contained much for me to consider. One poster had imbedded an image of a target bullet, that otherwise seemed to be favoured, but it lost most of it's mass. Previously I've mostly used factory Remington 150gr core-lokt in 270win and only recoverd one bullet - It must have bounced around inside the bucks chest, before lodging in the spine retaining about 80% of it's mass and not that a pretty clover expansion is necessary, it expanded desirably. All other shots even through shoulder bone with that have left an entry and exit wound: Almost all deer were planted where they stood, but a few didn't realize they were dead, and walked or ran until their heart and lungs leaked the important stuff out. This is of course the intent and desire of any hunt: No wounded animals to chase, lose or cause lingering deaths - hence the request for experiences and knowledge to be shared. Seems that the consensus discourages at least the Scenar target bullet for hunting.

I read the various reports of other hunting bullets not handling thick bone contact desirably. Hornady's Interlock, SST... which surprises me. I doubt Remington has a bullet manufacturing branch and wonder who the subcontractor is who produces the core-lokt. A bullet I would surmise as being similar is Hornady's Interbond.
