So after doing some load development yesterday at 315m, it is now clear to me that I need some sort of target camera system for shooting. As I plan to shoot often at 500m-700m, it is a must. So let's get right to it;

1. If you use a target camera, please let me know which one and what you like and dislike about it

2. What are the best options as far as feedback from shooters having used them?

3. As I do not possess the intelligence nor the skills to build my own, am I left to accept the fact that I'll probably have to sell my left nut to afford a target camera system?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Give me a shout... can offer the new Caldwell system. Simple, works well, fair pricing.

All in 1 so set up, sync your device and enjoy. you will need to download to a ipad or smartphone... will not work on laptops unless are new download is possible.

1) Bullseye ammocam long range. It works as advertised.
2) Hell if I know. Don't understand what you are asking.
3) Bought mine on sale for around $420 Canadian Pesos.

Had a bullseye and could not get it to work properly at 1000 yards. Got the target vision one mile and 1000 is not a problem. A little expensive but we all know the saying.

I have a Bullseye 1 mile. Have struggled with it, will try it again this spring with some new tips from the manuf.

I just borrow my daughters IPhone and set it up on a tripod near the target, then FaceTime my phone. Does the trick and there’s no limit to distance.

I shoot long range and thought about the camera system and then I was looking at DRONES. I'm thinking the drone would have the advantage as it can cover a broad area and check more than one target at different distances. ( That is drone as a spotter NOT A TARGET).

Borrowing your daughter's phone - she actually ALLOWS you to do that? This works if you have a good cellular signal at both points, don't get dropped/lose connection, and a large data plan on both phones. Facetime eats data at up to 25MB per 10 minutes on each end. That is 150MB per hour, on each phone, or about 1.0 GB total for my 3-4 hours of range time each time I went out. At an average of 4 times a month for 7 months of the year, it would make the price of a high end camera system start to look pretty desirable. Fortunately I don't have cell service at the range so it makes it really simple for me. Facetime also does not allow the sort of image manipulation required to de-rotate and flatten the image. The concept of using Facetime is fine and if it works for your purposes then great. I'll stick with the AmmoCam. As mentioned above, there are other dedicated options, such as the Caldwell, as well.
