Does any company make 10/22 target barrels that are sporter profile? So it would fit in a 10/22 stock with normal barrel channel. I’m really not a fan of having a bull barrel on a rimfire but I’d like to increase the accuracy of my 10/22. Thanks !

Check out bits of pieces in Delta BC, they usually have green mountain sporter barrels in various combinations of fluted, stainless/blued, length and threaded muzzle. Contact: Barry @ 604 946 6168

If they don't have what you want, wait a few weeks and call again. Ordering online is not an option, last time I checked. It's one of those call / credit card things.

A Kidd ultralight has a bull barrel profile but is lighter than a sporter. Best of both worlds.Kidd is probably the most accurate option available.

The McGowen I had was lousy accuracy. Maybe they are hit or miss but I wouldn’t risk it again.

Sorry to hear about your McGowen experience... if you got it from me, there is warranty support for this. Haven't been contacted so can't help with what I don't know about.

Definitely rifle set up and ammo can go a long ways but if the barrel is not right, we can fix it for sure.

Let me know

I purchased the barrel from Bits of Pieces.

The McGowen was definitely a major improvement over the factory barrel. I did get some okay groupings out of it. Obviously some ammunition worked better than others.

The Kidd is a big step up from the McGowen. It is more accurate with every kind of ammunition. The difference between the two barrels was substantial. Honestly the McGowen was a poor value.

The Kidd Ultralight barrels are 330$ from Dlask right now. They are absolutely feather weight and tack drivers. Even if you aren’t bothered by the added weight of the McGowen, the accuracy of the Kidd per dollar spent wins hands down.

Buy a Kidd Jerry! You will like it.

Again, I dont know all that may have imported McGowen barrels but I am surprised at your result. I am surprised B&P didn't take your barrel back and replace or fix. I would have.

I am glad the Kidd barrel is working well for you

Hopefully, you will get chance to do a CRPS or other rimfire action game this season. An accurate 10/22 would be such a hoot ...

Jerry
