Target shooting jacket - looking for

Hi gents,

I am looking for shooting jacket like Anschutz ahg, nothing fancy , larger size about 58, where could I find a used one?

Depending how serious you want to be, probably the least expensive "new" jacket would be something like what the cadet use

- Finding a used size-58 jacket is going to be a though one... as most ISSF shooters I've known are on the smaller size

Large and 58 do not equate.

Large to me is a 42-44. 58 must be something like ###X55555###X. Not even known to Jones Tent and Awning.

Most everyone I know that shoots Target Rifle has at least 2 jackets if not more. I suggest you post on the EE under WTB. Hopefully you’ll get some replies. Best of luck.

Do they have one "Large" and one with a 58 inch chest too.

If some people would read their notifications. With a score of 0 and six posts it might be too much to ask!

Does anyone know if there is such a size as Large 58?

A fellow shooter has one for a new home but it ain't for someone with a 58 girth.

Those may be EUR sizing vice US sizing. Typically, take 10 off EUR to approximate US (Size 50 EUR ~ 40" US)

Look at Creedmore sports in the USA. They were always at Camp Perry with a rack full of them.

If you're wanting it to play a specific games, check the rules about the closures/buttons to make sure you buy the correct item.

Depending if you are shooting prone/standing/kneeling
- They help stabilize the core in standing
- They provide some level on comfort when spending a lot of time in the prone
- If using a sling (prone/kneeling) there's a point of anchor for the sling to always be in the same spot
- The grippy-patch (for lack of a better term) on the shoulder/elbow will help stabilize the position and old the rifle position more secure

- With the higher-end jackets, they are usually available as a prone jacket or 3P jacket


NRA and ISSF have different rules about how tights the jacket can be.

when shooting prone with a proper jacket it is much like being in a straight jacket

I kid you not. ��

it helps steady the arms and shoulder area
when done properly it is like or similar to a front rest set up it is that steady
‘1st time I borrowed a jacket from a friend he tightened it up so my arm went asleep, back hurt

and he had to HELP GET ME OUT OF THE DARN THING

I could not drive or get out of it myself

bought a cheaper jacket and play with it once in a while

it is like bondage, everyone should try it at least once

A proper fitting jacket is very comfortable and gives great support when you are in a shooting position. However trying to do anything else like moving up to the firing point, bending from a standing position to pick up your shooting gear can sometimes be impossible.

ISSF legal jackets can be used in ISSF competition if it fits properly. ISSF jacket can also be used in fullbore competitions. Fullbore jackets can not be used legally in ISSF competitions. The main difference between the two jackets are the closure and the allowed padding.
