When I started pistol shooting I would set my sights for POA.
I then went to a six o clock sighting.
Today ,I tried point of aim again and I believe I am going back to this way of shooting.
I believe I shoot more accurately shooting POA.
How do you you have your sights set?
What has been your experience?

I'm usually a point of aim/point of impact guy, but I've found that for pure bullseye shooting with a round, black bull I get better results with 6 o'clock. The problem is, though, you're only sighted in for one type of target, with POA/POI you've got more flexibility.

Point of aim. I want to know where the bullet's hitting, not guess.

6 o'clock is only for specific types of target shooting.

its funny when other guys try my 1911 . poa for me . 6 o clock hold can be interpreted differently , for some 6 o clock hold means the bottom of the black ring for others bottom of one of the other white rings.poa is poa. why change your sight adjustment for different sizes of targets or have to try to remember what type of target you are shooting

Six o'clock or even sub-six, depending on the discipline and the light conditions.
In POA, discerning the front sight can be a problem depending on light conditions.

Does anyone else try for what I call, "maximum point blank" at 25m? Its not really POA, and its not really six-o'clock hold, but for my 9mm's shooting 115-147gr loads, I like a sight picture/setting that gets them all "close enough".

I sight all my pistols for POA. I have tried the 6 o'clock hold but I just didn't take to it. POA just seems more natural to me.

I tried the 6 o`clock when I started shooting because I was told that`s how you are supposed to shoot, but very quickly went back to a more natural feeling of POA.

Point of aim is my preference but I have a couple guns that do not have verticaly adjustable sights they are six o'clock @ 25yrd's, those are the guns I shoot the most caus I wont miss them when there gone.

I prefer to dot the "I", with any firearm furnished with metallic sights - whether rifle, pistol, or shotgun.

+1, although I can appreciate the other way, i like to be able to see the spot I am shooting at.
