I bought this from Weinmerjack in Montreal. This was his cheapest model, which he described as in very good shape.
I think it is unissued, unfired. It has a lot of little handling marks, as if it has been stored with other pistols in steel ammo cans. The parkerized finish shows no wear on the rails.
The safety is a pushbutton just below the hammer. Not a fast or convenient safety to use. Faster to just #### the gun. The mag release is a push button near the bottom of the left grip panel. The mag has a good finger rest.
Trigger was slightly creepy. Pretty good for a military gun.
I shot it with my handloads. 135 gr LRN, over 3.8 gr 231. This load seems to work well in all my 9mm pistols.
I shot just fine. No feeding or ejecting issues. Sights were just about perfect for me, right out of the box. Accuracy was outstanding. This is the first target I shot. Two hands at 20 yards. I shot two other single stack 9mms for comparison. One cheaper and one about double the cost. The Tariq was a bit better than both.
I shot about 50 rounds through it and the trigger improved. It now has only a very slight creep. This may be the first pistol I have ever bought that I won’t adjust the sights or get it a trigger job.
