I have an older Tasco 4-12x40 that I’m not familiar with. It came with a Pre 64 Win70 .375H&H but was swapped out for a more modern optic.

I’d like to be able to date/value it if possible and hoping someone recognizes it. Certainly is clear optically, but has an unusual fine Duplex reticle with another horizontal cross hair below that extending the complete width just as the normal crosshair does. I know it handles the recoil from sitting atop its original home (noted above) and currently resides on a safe queen for safe keeping.

That old set of eyes deserves to be used on an old classic 22 cal or so.

Tasco’s will never drive a high value but they do have value, like anything condition is everything, especially with scopes and selling price can be heavily impacted by minimal defects.
The range finding reticle and general appearance I would put it around $250 plus freight and drop the price weekly ($25) until it sells.
It might go right away but I think you’d be more likely to see it move in 4 to 6 weeks.

I remember those with the range finding reticle. Like how it was in French and English. Moose, Bear and Deer haha! If it’s old enough to be made in Japan they had great glass in the old World Class.

I kinda figure that $250 range myself. Probably list here and over on Post and see what happens, i’m really not panicking if it doesn’t move quickly or not.

I like the old Japan Tasco but I think if you can get $150 you are doing ok.
