I usually like to spend more for quality stuff. And I know that Tasco & Bushnell are frowned upon by many who are "in the know". But all I wanna do is be able to spot my bulletholes in paper out to 200 yards. Did I make a mistake? Should I have spent the $500-$1500 for a Bausch & Lomb or a Leopold? If I'm not trying to spot the left nipple of a female BlueJay at 150 yards, is it really necessary?

The scope works well enuf, but the tripod broke on me 1st time out. The scope's going back to LeBaron in exchange for something more expensive and hopefully better quality. I'm willing to go up to maybe $3-400. Any suggestions?
I'd even consider buying one in th EE here and using the store credit for other stuff instead (I dunno why I didn't even think of checking the EE for a spotting scope, lotsa good deals in there.... )
I bought a cheap spotting scope for target practise for 200 yards. Find it much better just looking throught my gun scope to see where I hit the target. Good optics are a must.
Went back the LeBaron and returned the scope. How the heck I ended up walking away with a $500 Bushnell spotting scope is completely beyond me.
Wanna know the worst part? For $300+, I don't even get a mini tripod with it. So I ended up bringing back the Tasco (which I was pretty happy with)only because of the broken tripod, and end up walking away with a $500 Bushnell...with no tripod at all.
Sometimes, I just don't get me
PS: Anyone gotta lead on a half-decent mini-tripod?
