Ok, this has been brought up before, but this issue has been a recurring one for me that is getting frustrating

I have removed the turrets and tried lubing them with something different, which works...at first, after a little bit the turrets tighten up again and are just as stiff.

How in hell do I permanently smooth out the turrets?

Mine is sorta like that also, I just make certain I grasp it all the way round, not to put pressure only in certain spots on the turret. I was gonna free it up with some teflon , but after the initial click , it gets moving pretty good. Sorry I could not have been more help.

I've tried both of those. I tighten mine up pretty damn evenly, At first a couple turns loosens it up, but after a bit after that the thing goes right back to feel like it is seemingly glued shut. I have to almost wrench on the thing to get it to turn at all.

I have emailed SWFA and posted the same question on their board too..

Try using a slightly smaller o-ring. Something that makes light contact with the turret. I used RCBS case lube on mine and I have no problems at all. Slicker than snot on a door knob.

Don't use petroleum based lubs on rubber o-rings, use only silicone base lubes.

Petroleum based lubs cause rubber o-rings to swell, once this happens they are toast.

Use a lube marked for o-rings only, PARKER Super O-Ring Lube comes to mind.

Unless you plan on hunting upside down or in the lake, removing that Oring will do nothing to reduce the weatherproofing of the scope.

Remember that the scope was for a NAVY end user and yes, we do need to use the scope underwater.

If I was you I would send it back to Bushnell with an explanation. They are covered so worse come to worse they will send you a new scope. They replaced a Tasco exp that I had with a Titan equivalent.... no charge. To be honest its a great hunting scope.

Yea, they also recently just replied to my email with absolutely nothing that I haven't heard. just turn the turrets a couple times to loosen it up.. lol about the millionth time i've heard that.

I am going to try and play with it a bit as well as try removing the o-rings at least at the range. I hear it takes a millenium or so to get your scope back from the bushnell service dept.

Unless your SS actually says TASCO on it, Bushnell will have nothing to do with it. This still seems to be a misnomer about the Super Sniper scopes. Tasco does not make them. SWFA does. If it ever requires warrenty work....as your very stiff turrets may require....Chris from SWFA is about the only one that can help you. This also means you must go through a company that doesn't deal with Canada.
