Basically it focuses the reticle. Sometimes you look through a scope and the crosshairs appear fuzzy, but the image is sharp, or vice versa. The ocular ring with the + - will bring the two together, sharp crosshairs against a sharp image.

I'm using a 16x on my 22/250 amd am very happy with it however, I find the turrets VERY TIGHT to turn. Is this the norm with the Super Sniper or is it just my scope?

If you go onto the SWFA website and check their Super Sniper forum they talk about this. They say it has to do with the grease that is used on the o-rings inside the turrets, and can be cleaned and relubed with thinner grease.

Mine is very tight too, more so on the windage turret than the moa one though.

My latest BNIB Super Sniper 16X has super tight turrets, but LOUD as heck. That's kinda cool.

I took the o-rings out, I use mine for target shooting and I don't plan on going under water with it. I made a great improvement

Thanks for your input guys. I removed the turret caps and cleaned out all of the grease inside and on the "O" ring. I then used a very light smear of silicon lubricant on the "O" ring and voila!! all is now as it should be and I've just spent a very happy hour testing it on the local gopher population

I did the same now too. I removed the caps and wiped a little and put them back on. Now they are really nice and the clicks are a lot more audible. Not too tough like before but not too loose either.

The eyepiece adjustment is known as "diopter" and is to correct for any inherent vision problem in the the eye. Basically it compensates for the same thing as wearing glasses does. So if you wear glasses then you can adjust it so you don't need to wear your glasses to see through it clearly. (Provided it has enough adjustment.)
