I bought a Taurus 24/7 in 9mm from someone and love the ergonomics of the pistol but have had a nagging problem for over a year now which has relegated it to the safe. When a round is loaded, 25-35% of the time it fails to fire. Click and nothing. Restrike capability allows me to pull the trigger again, this time in double action, and this usually fires 75% of the time on second strike. Factory ammo used and many different brands tried.

Taurus International has an unlimited lifetime warranty and I was wondering if anyone has ever shipped firearms to the USA for warranty and how to go about it? RCMP webpage says an export permit is required only for prohibs and anything going outside of Canada to anywhere but the USA so I'm ok there I believe. Anyone have any experienced with Taurus warranty living in Canada?

Thanks in advance.

sounds to me like you just need a new striker spring, which should be worth less then 5 bucks. If you pull the one you have, your local gun smith may be able to cut you a new one from stock, or order one thru brownells or numrich arms?

Taurus USA wont have anything to do with guns other than those from US residents, unless they have changed recently. They referred me to the Canadian distributor who was Nicholls at that time. As usual Nicholls wanted nothing to do with it. We now have a new Distributor(banner sponsor) in Canada who may be able to help. Good luck
