Its fairly new pistol by Taurus that came into the store today. Normally, I hear Taurus, I think.......oh well, its no Beretta. Why bother. But this pistol is kinda their own brand, fairly well done entry into tupperware line of pistols. Rail and short barrel, great pointability I found. I really like it. It felt really good in my hand, seemed to fit perfectly on me and not so well with other people but.......try for yourself....

The trigger was the big thing, which is double action/single action. Thats the beauty of it, the double action trigger pull felt like a nice single action take up. It was consistant just felt good. There was just no resistance, it clicked a couple of times before breaking but when I comeare to my Sig 226, the initial take up in double action is kinda stiff and causes me to put my first round way off target. Its mostly my problem, but all I can imagine with this Taurus, that would not be an issue at all. The first double action shot would be as quick and accurate immediately as if you were cocked and locked. Anyway, I hadn't felt a trigger like that in a lot of guns and I thought I 'd share that. If you get a chance to pick one up and feel it, make sure to try and pull the trigger, double action and single action, try and feel the difference. Its very small. I think thats a good thing. Tell me if I'm out of my tree. :)

Price is also always a consdieration, and in this case, will likely be available between 700-850 range? ish? Guessing.

Post your thoughts on the gun please.

I handled one (DAO) a year ago, the grip was a little small for my liking, but it definitely was a decent gun.

I do like the DA/SA feature of the 24/7 PRO models...

IIRC 24/7 won a gun of the year award in '05, there was video about the gun on the Taurus website; they shot 10K through the gun and had no malfunctions ...

I picked one up on monday, took it out today and put 350 rounds through it. Most of which was rapid or doubles. I shot offhand from 25 yds to 5yds overall it worked well, I really like the Hienie sights. No stoppages, but the mags are a ##### to get anything over 6 or 7 rounds in.
