Taurus might be getting into AR business... at least must be thinking about it making this prototype. :)

They started making 1911's a few years back and doing pretty well with that model (I have one myself) so probably figured affordable AR would be well received by shooters as well.

but personally I hope they make one with a carry handle as well...not a fan of the flattop look.

Just what we need. Yet ANOTHER AR on the market.

I 100% agree, although I think you meant it sarcastically. There can't be enough gun companies making AR's in my opinion, the more the merrier. The more the US hunters push them as the new (or next) natural progression of the "American" hunting rifle ALL THE BETTER. Hopefully we can get that line of thinking up here if enough of us complain about it, and discuss how good of a hunting rifle the AR platform is. I would love to hunt with my R-15 or my R-25.

What I really would like from Taurus...

Anyone heard anymore about this? Most recent stuff I can find is from the spring of this year.

Not likely to ever see them in Canada, spoke to the Taurus rep at Shot Show and they cannot sell the rifle commercially, due to government regulations in Brazil.

Never say never.:D

While he may be 100% correct, it's also possible that he was not prepared for the demand for a semi-auto version, as they would be un-importable into thier biggest export market, the US.

This isn't something I'd drop after the first conversation.

Sean, how's your Portugese???

I think they have the license to be making them for the Brazilian military, not for commercial sale...:(

but the AR is a piston set up and if comes out will be available here! :)
