I have been reading up on cowboy action shooting and keeping coming across the no longer made taurus gaucho. People are saying they were built for the sport and for fast draw because they were stronger. I'm wondering if any one out there in CGN land has or had one and wether or not they liked it. In my mind taurus isn't the greatest gun maker out there. Not the worst either and that's only my opinion. However these look like a great revolver and if they were built tough I'd love the challenge of trying to track one down. Yes I am aware that Rugers are very very tough and reliable but everyone has Rugers and I like to be different.

Those Taurus' are not too common around these parts, not even sure if they ever made their way north.

Like you said Rugers are the go to gun. I understand the urge to be different but it will cost you, time and money.

You can hunt down some Uberti's that'll fit the bill, heard people have decent luck with them.

If you're really lucky and have deep pockets STI made a cowboy pistol, the "Texan" I think it was called. Sweet pistol if you can find it.
