After a couple months of browsing I decided that I wanted a Taurus Judge... yes, I know it is a novelty gun but that is why I wanted it! I took cash in hand and my 12/6 PAL to the local shop here in Calgary and they talked me out of it because of the poor maintenance history of Taurus. I was told that even their range guns have been in great need of repair. So I bought myself a Fabarm Martial Ultrashort 14 and setting it up to "look" tactical. I have had it for 2 months and yet to fire a single load but it is starting to look nice!
The down side is that I keep on thinking about that Taurus Judge that got away... So, I may be interested in a used version if the price is right.
Send me a PM here or to my posted email of bc2348@gmail.com if you have one for sale... My preference would be to deal with somebody who is relatively close to Calgary.
2nd question... price of used firearms? My research is showing that a very good premium gun can typically show as little as 20% off original selling price. These would be for the CZ, Sigs, Glocks, S&W etc... the other makes such as Taurus, Norinco, Hi-Point would see at least a 30% discount from original selling price. Possibly more than the 30% if you don't get a good idea of how much use the gun has had (ie. was it a range gun) or who the original owner was etc. I was also told by someone that "used is used"... doesn't matter if they have fired 1 round or 1,000 rounds... it is still "used" and is going to get hit with the the 30% "depreciation". Can anyone comment on this... are these guidelines valid?
thanks,
