Taurus model 86 issues

I was wondering if anyone out there has any experience with a non-functioning cylinder release on a taurus model 86. I had mine lock-up today on the range. The cylinder would move normally with a double action trigger pull but I could not open the cylinder itself until I removed the side plate and force the pin on the cylinder itself. Any relevent advice or diagnoses would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has a link to an assembly manual it would help me a great deal

I wonder if your ejector rod has backed off and unscrewed. Happened on SW's and I have had it happen on a couple of mine over the years. If it backs off it essentially locks the cylinder in place. Its reverse threaded so its worth a look. Easy fix
