I had a lengthy discussion with Taurus's customer service manager at SHOT about this subject.
I explained how the fact civilians can't get any parts from their "distributor" up here has pretty much killed their gun sales in Canada.
He asked me to e-mail him when I got home to discuss it some more.
Will it do any good..who knows.
But at least he met one Taurus owner face to face that won't be buying any more of their products until this problem is fixed.

good. I have a taurus, and all though its working right now, it wasn't really working well when i first got it (too tight in some places) and perhaps might break in the future. I also wouldn't mind getting a tracker scope mount too.

I have 4 Taurus revolvers. I'd e-mail him my concerns on Taurus customer service as well if you would pm me his address. The more the better I would think. Was he from Florida or Brazil or a Canadian rep?

He is the customer service manager from Miami.
I'll check with him about passing out his e-mail address first. I don't want to piss him off and close the door I opened.

Have him set up a seperate hotmail or yahoo account if he doesn't want to give out his work email for this.

I'm going to tell him there are several Taurus owners that would like to voice their opinion on this subject..what he does with that information is up to him.

I managed to find the parts I needed on ebay this time, but I tried to get them right from Taurus, but they won't reply to any kind of correspondance. I'd feel alot better if they had some sort of service for people in Canada. I've had real good luck with my Taurus guns so far. All I wanted was a factoy grip for a revolver. No luck from Taurus, but ebay saved the day.

I have also had a bad experience with their Cdn distributor and then went to Taurus in Miami. They refused to help at all as they only dealt with US customers. I finally got satisfaction from Taurus in Brazil and have sent them a rather lengthy letter on their distributors' attitude and stats on Cdn gun owners etc. They were amazed at the stats and sympathetic to our cause/needs but they still continue to deal with the same distributor who frankly couldnt give a crap about post sale service.
If you are searching for Taurus parts, Barry at Bits of Pieces in Delta carries a small selection and may be able to provide you some assistance. Great guy and superb 'smith as well.
Cheers:)

He mentioned that they have a contract with thier distributor up here which is understandable.
Maybe with a little encouragemnt from us..they won't renew it and pick someone else..

Well if my distributor was impeding the sales and tarnishing my company's reputation, I would find a new distributor PDQ contract or not. I am sure the terms of the contract have been breached many times by lack of support. Besides, then Richard would have to change his signature line:D

Taurus makes good guns, and cheap too. If they could follow through with their "lifetime warranty" here in Canada, there would be a market (in my single taurus owning ill-informed opinion) ;)
