It's obviously prohibited due to barrel length, but the design is really interesting.

It's a DAO .22lr pistol whose barrel flips up to ease loading the +1.

Would you guys know of any other handguns that use a similar system?

This style of pistol can't be very expensive to manufacture. A Canada-legal handgun of this sort that takes ruger/buckmark magazines would be a godsend, I would think.

Ah, you're right.

This guy modded his "tomcat" to hold-open.

Thats pretty neat :)

I wonder how safe that is though? Shooting .22 into the water, doesn't it say right on the box "Do not shoot into water" or something like that? Maybe I'm just imagining stuff...Anyone ever had a .22 riccochet off the water?

Yeah, my cousin and I were hunting squirrels on my grandfathers' property a number of years back, when we saw what we believed was a muskrat in one of the swamps. I took aim and fired but missed and there was that twooOOOOOOoooo sound of a ricochet followed by a distant thwack as it hit a tree branch. We both thought it was pretty cool then, now we've realized how freakin' dangerous that could have been

Was also told last winter during rabbit season by one of our hunting buddies that his brother-in-law was killed by a ricochet of a .22 off a rock while he was trying to harvest a hare the year or two before @.@

If you are grandfathered, the (grandfathered) single-action Beretta model 950B is available in both .25acp and .22 short. The (grandfathered) double-action Beretta 21A in .22LR, and .25acp, is rare.

If you aren't grandfathered, the Beretta model 86 is available in .380acp.
