I am trying to find a .357 Maganum/.38 Special revolver - S&W 686 is the best choice but it is a bit pricy. I saw Taurus revolver has similar feature and shape but the price is almost half of S & W. Did anyone own and use it before? How's the duration, quality, feel, and accuracy?

I owned a 44 Raging Bull for a while and I was very impressed with it. Taurus had models in the 70's that shared much of their design with S&W as they were both owned by the same parent company back then. From the feedback I've studied in the past most Taurus owners have good things to say.... good guns for a good price.

Unless things have changed here in Canada in the past year, the issues with Taurus remain. It's tough to find or even order replacement parts and accessories which is why I sold mine in the end. I'm gonna give it another go however as there are Canadian dealers that will import parts accessories for you should you ever need them they just wind up being more expensive.

My experience with a Taurus 66 was pretty much exactly as described in the first post. They are reasonably good guns for the money. The S&W will have a nicer trigger and the internals will be better finished, and the externals will probably be a bit better in well on the fit and finish side of things. Unless you shoot a lot and are very serious about it, a Taurus gun with no defects will likely shoot as well to the average guy as the S&W with practice.

The big issue is the defects part. Taurus guns have a reputation for issues out of the box. How much of this is true and how much is internet echo chamber is kind of hard to say.

At the end of the day, I will personally say I like the Taurus revolvers from what I've shot, but I love my Smiths and chose to spend the extra money. It's always possible you'll actually prefer the Taurus if you pick both up.

I have several of both.

The single most accurate revolver I have had was a Taurus 357, clone of a M66.

The Smiths are better made and have better triggers.

I lost a side plate screw for a Taurus. Called the USA Taurus Toll free number and they sold me another one for $5.00. The only challenge was figuring out what model my pistol was. They did not mark the model # on them at one time.
