Taurus Thunderbolt (colt lihtning) 45 Colts

Over the P35 the average of 10 shots at 10 feet of Wolf 250 gr LRN 45 LC, run 1055 fps out of the 26 inch barrel...
This caliber in the Thunderbolt could make for a very potent 10-100 metres deer médicine rifle... JP.

Nice review Caramel. Hopefully some more carbines come in the future.

After i recieved my rifle, the infos that i founded, i learned that those are not produced any longer, i guess those Thunderbolts are the last of the Mohicans here, i am happy, i could secured one... JP.

To complete my mini review of the Thunderbolt, i got to calculate the energy of it with the most inexpensive standard Wolf remanufactured ammo, legal for deer hunting and out of this long barrel, 665 pounds of energy are available, the recoil of this big pea shooter is similar to a 22 LR and the most important it bring a huge smile to my face... JP.

Action on it is closer to a Marlin than a 92, lock up is strong and positive, when you run the action it feel sturdy, i only intend to shoot regular ammo in it so i am not worry at all... JP.

If I recall, the Lightning is considered a weaker action in the manuals. That may well refer to originals, however.

I wouldn't hot rod one of these regardless.

No, this action must be open to reload, then closed, then repump to chamber the first round... JP.:)

Thanks, it's the same as an IVI Timberwolf pump.

After I fill the magazine, I drop a loose round into the action through the ejector port and then close the action so I have a full magazine plus one in the chamber.

I will do this, having 14 rounds handy make it for long before reloading, i like it... JP.
