Taurus Triad
This message in mainly addressed to NAA, CAPP325, KMD and Laniru. I sincerely hope that at least one of you own or have owned at least one recently produced Taurus firearm. It would be quite disappointing to learn that your comments and remarks are simply based on lack of knowledge. It is a well known fact that Taurus in the beginning of their existence incorporated several designs and characteristics from Colt and Smith & Wesson. After all, if you are going to copy, copy what's best out there. From that point on, the company grew and developed their own products and identity. As far as the so called "Beretta-Clone", please do your homework... in 1980 Taurus purchased the Brazilian plant, drawings, tooling, machinery, and a very experienced work force from Beretta... therefore, it is a Beretta, with some improvements such as thumb safety located on the slide, better slide serrations and trigger lock mechanism. I have both of them and I can tell you they are very similar when it comes to accuracy, finish, etc. but Taurus will cost you less than half of the price. Price can also be interpreted two ways... you can pay the right price for a good quality product or you can pay a lot for the same product with a bigger name brand. As far as comparing Taurus to Norinco... well, it only shows me you really don't have a clue. Taurus has been providing Springfield and Smith & Wesson with technology innovations for some time now. Have you had the opportunity to check all recent awards given to Taurus? Maybe you shouldn't be so afraid of trying new firearms in order to develop an educated opinion. I have a number of different firearms... Sig P226, Kimber Tactical Custom II, Beretta 92G SD, Taurus PT92AR, Glock 17, Baby Eagle, and I have seen my share of malfunctions and stoppages in pretty much al of them. So, I guess they are all bad quality firearms!!! Besides, let’s be honest, if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all. 8)
