I am considering a new taurus wheel gun pistol (One of the taurus 357s ,#627, 7 shot or #608 , 8 shot) or perhaps one of the norinco 1911 types 1911A1, or the high cap 1911 A1 C . I am looking at good value for the pistol .
who owns these and how do you like them?

I'll wade in... Taurus previously had a reputation as being the poor sister of the S&W as far as wheelguns goes. While I'd still prefer a S&W over a Taurus I understand that the recent offerings from Taurus are decent 'quality for the money' revolvers. And those that have them seem to like them.

I have had a Norinco 1911. Again, still prefering Series 70 and pre Colt 1911's I'd have no hesitation in picking up another Norinco 1911. In fact right now I'm contemplating ordering a spankin' new Norc NP-29 9mm 1911.

The 1911 A1 C is a single stack not a high cap.

Search for norinco 1911's and you'll find tons of info on them. Most people that have them like them. Including me.

you are right sorry i was looking at the 10 round high capacity double stack and put down the the pistol above it :D .

have you had experince with the high capacity 10 round

ok folk i am pretty much sold on the 1911 A1 , I have been reading reveiws and such and it really seems a bargin and a half . Also i love the classic design of the 1911 . any tips? mods or things to look for .

Save up some money and buy yourself a real Colt – you won't regret it. The best Colts are the ones manufactured prior to 1970 or after 1991. Colt had some quality control issues in the 70's and 80's due to frequent union strikes, poor management, etc. However, new production (as well as pre-70 series) Colts are the best 1911's on the market (with the exception of $2000+ custom and semi custom guns of course).

If you do have any problems with the Taurus, you may have trouble getting parts and service. You would be way better off with a Smith&Wesson.

Norinco 1911, Taurus and beyond!

I had a great time with my 1911. I've got a Taurus on it's way now and am expecting good things from the reviews I've read.
Just a suggestion, check out Ruger! They're quite cheap on the scale of price but always a really great quality gun. Every one I've had from auto the revolver is tight, smooth and accurate. Brand name gun, clone prices.
My 2 cents!

You could also consider a Ruger GP-100. About $600 bucks for a .357 but it is a 6 shot, not a 7 or 8. Good quality gun though, mine is deadly accurate and is built like a tank. I even like the trigger.
