Tavor .300BLK Factory Conversion to Launch at Shot Show

I think you might be right on the money on barrel length measurement. In the US they often list AR15 barrels 16" when they are indeed usually 16.5".

Moe

If that is indeed the case, why is there only a 1/2" difference?
The 5.56x45 chamber should add 45mm or ~ 1 3/4" to the total.

1"=25.4mm 45 / 25.4 = 1.7716"

(Not arguing, I just dont know the US regs...)

no go for the canadian market, turns the best nr rifle into competition with 300blk ARs

good news for the americans though

It is legal. I would buy it - Or did I miss something is it illegal to own a barrel. Is it illegal to own an Restricted tavor?

Not saying it's illegal, just probably not a big enough market here for IWI to do a full on production run for us Canadians.

Sure, why not? Take a really expensive rifle and modify it to shoot really cheap, sh!tty ammo. There's a great idea.

If the tavor started out with better accuracy to begin with it might be a viable option.

I have a 7.62x39 conversion on an àcr and the accuracy so far with my limited testing is very good, surprisingly better than expected to be honest with the DA hollowpoints

Practical? What does anything have to do with being "practical?" It's about a good, expensive western rifle being converted to a sh!tty eastern commie caliber.

If you just want something crap to go "BANG" buy an SKS.

Okay let me rephrase. People can spend their money on whatever they want.

True Suputin is just saying (and I'm only assuming here, not trying to actually speak for another CGN'er). Why?
As in why modify a quality and expensive product (Tavor rifle in .300Blk.) to only shoot cheap sh##ty ammo. or expensive hunting ammo.

Suputin's response is the same response Alberta Tactical Rifle Supply made when asked to build a Modern Hunter/Varminter in 7.62x39, again why offer/produce a very expensive rifle to shoot cheap sh##ty ammo.

I personally get the cheap NR centre fire plinking idea, but eventually you want some decent accuracy and that just wouldn't be available with cheap 7.62x39 and the known accuracy of a Tavor.
I'd suggest reloading which should allow for the .300Blk. to offer both accuracy and affordable ammo. when used in a Tavor...

Of course everyone's entitled to spend their hard earned money anyway they choose, just as everyone is entitled to express their own opinions on rifles and whether an idea is a good one or not?

Cheers D
