TAVOR 45 deg. Rail issue?

I just tried to mount a micro red dot SIS on my 45deg. Side rail, and noticed it's wobbly as heck. It uses two small screws to mount it, but even when I removed them, the rail stability wasn't much different.
I tightened it was well of course, but it didn't change.

Are there any aftermarket aluminum rails available, and if so, how can I tighten it up?

I wound up using an ARMS 5 riser, and it helped, but it's not fully stable.

It's definitely designed for accesories that don't require a zero. Mine slides back and forth a few mm. I've seen aluminum mlok rails that can replace it and I'm sure they're solid.

The issue is where the rail joins the stock. It moves there, so even an aluminum rail would move.
The red dot is for close up anyway, so it might be not such a big deal. I just wish it was more stable. No reason for it to be so sloppy on a $3k gun.

There's every reason for it to be sloppy when your trying make it do something it's not meant to. Try running a 45° rail off your top rail, anything else will be pointless.

I assumed the rail was there to mount accessories. One of them being a small red dot for close up. I had the light there before, which wasn't a problem.
What reason would there be for it to not at least be tight?

I was thinking a 45 off the top rail would be an odd thing to do, since there was one already provided. I don't even know if one would fit there, it might interfere with the stock one.

Most of us don't even leave that rail on as it is a poor spot for flash light mounts anyways and like Jarvy said, the rail is a filler piece of plastic that was made into a rail as a an afterthought to fill the oposite side charging handle slot for leftorization (assuming you are a righty)

When the light was on that side rail, the Switch was in the perfect position for use both ways without removing my support hand. Now with it on top, I can still reach it fine, but I have to move my hand a bit.

I understand it's a cover with a rail. I still don't understand why it couldn't have been made more solid. That aluminum rail would likely suffer the same instability, and I would need a compatable mount. Not really an option at this point.

Like I said, rock your red dot on a 45° GG&G mount off of your top rail infront of your magnified sight.

Will it not interfere with the side rail? Does it nestle above it?
Nevermind, it's not like the other low slung mounts I've seen. Great solution, thanks!
Anyone know where I could get one?

So, I'm looking at the side of my Elcam, and the battery/switch tube sticks out on the side the 45 mount goes. It looks like it might interfere with the red dot line of sight.
If I get the low mounted 45, it looks like it will interfere with the side rail.

Anyone have any ideas?
Has anyone used either on a Tavor?

The red dot height is important as well. When I mounted it to the side rail without the riser, I could barely see the dot at the very top of the lense. Now with that riser, it's centred. So it can't be too low to the stock.

Thanks, I saw that, but the instability is between the rail, and the slot in the stock.
That rail would serve the same function as my ARMS 5 riser in stiffening the plastic rail, but still have the same wobble problem at the mounting point.

I will try to find a local dealer with that 45 GG&G mount, or similar high mount, and see if I can try it out on the Tavor.
I'm just not sure if I will have an issue seeing the red dot past the battery tube on the Elcan.

UPDATE!
GG&G works, just barely, but it will be fine. The wind age knob cuts out about a third of the view, but it's acceptable. I don't think a riser would help unless it was so high it would stick out too much.
Thanks for the tip!
