Hey everyone,

I took my Tavor 7 out for a second time the other day and only brought some Chinese ball ammo with me.

I loaded a couple mags and go to have some fun pull the trigger and click I recock and click again this happened on all 10 rounds I tried with multiple firing attempts each etc. Every round was slightly impacted but seems like multiple light strikes

I then put those same rounds into my bolt action 308 and fired without issue

The first time taking the rifle out I had some federal ammo and it shot without issue.

Anyone else have this issue and figure out a remedy lol?. I bought the T7 to chew though the few cases of ammo I had from my m305

I had an RFB before the t7 and it ran the ammo without issue also etc

Clean your gun, especially the bolt carrier group and the firing pin. I've put 500 rounds of Chinese surp through a t7, as well as about 350 barnaul Steelcase. If cleaning it doesn't work you may need to shorten firing pin spring. There is a thread on it at ar15.com

Basically what I would recommend. Military primers are made slightly harder than commercial ammunition so they need a harder hit from the firing pin.

The rifle has only seen roughly 40 rounds of hunting ammo and is spotless inside, but I will look into the spring topic never thought of making it shorter.

Ohhh but the kel tec us such a peice of crap...the tavor 7 is going to be so much better... the mdr is going to be so much better....I still think the RFB is the best 308 bull pup! Everyone rave about the tavor military pedigree but most fail to realise that success in the 223 relm doesn't alway translate to the 308 platform.

Lol, ok buddy. Rfb ergos are way worse, questionable reliability, plastic breakage, takes fal mags not sr25 pattern so no xcr pistol mags, etc. Cope.

Tavors 7s and some berdan primers ammo have documented issues, aka 1 or 2 threads on here and ar15.com. A fan boy would say "well who's running Steelcase surplus through their 4k rifle? I am, all I run through my t7 is Chinese surplus, 2 fulls cans through and not a single issue. I'd love to see someone say the same for the rfb.

Ok. I did the same with my RFB. Lots of steel case, lots of surplus...
