After handling on at my local store I totaly love this gun, and am very close to pulling the trigger on one. But what kinda groupings are you guys getting? Also how about the warranty on them if there is one? Like if so eying breaks how do you get parts from Israel?

Canada Ammo is the Canadian distributor of Tavors, they will handle any issues or parts request you might have with the product, as to the length of warranty I am not too sure about that.

I've been debating one for many months now. After firing one, that had been well broken in, on the weekend I now have to have one. Soft shooting, shoulders extremely well, trigger gets MUCH better after a few thousand rounds, a better balanced rifle for off hand shooting I have yet to find.

Is that accuracy like 2" 3" or worse? Also yes hogans only got 3 in and all are spoken for. But theirs were being sold with the iron sights, where most retailers try and sell you the irons for a extra couple hundred.

It's a $3000 3" gun, I would be all over it if the damn thing would group MOA or better...

I am "allowed" one firearm purchase this year, I have been thinking long and hard about the tavor since I first fired the demo unit in Vernon several years back but honestly I have enough military grade rifles as is... I'm impressed by the limited reviews of the new XCR-M and will probably end up with one of them instead.

The Tavor does not group well with 55 grain it has a 1/7 twist, it seems to like 62 grain or heavier, i was shooting 69 grain SMKs and was getting 1 inch groups. with regular ammo its more like 2 or 3 inches ,, you must master the trigger to get good groups , its kind of squishy and staple gun like because of the bullpup design there is a long linkage bar connecting the trigger to the trigger group..

Its not a target rifle but is more than accurate enough for a military rifle and hunting ,, if your main concern is accuracy and longevity get a Swiss Arms for the same price about , its way more rifle for the money ,, but way more weight and size too..

The best groups with FMJ ammo so far is just a tad under 2 moa (3 shot grps) with mine. Other fmj loads hover in the 2.5 to 3 moa area.

Haven't shot match ammo in it yet, but the higher quality fmj (like Swiss Raug ammo) loads didn't show much (if any) improvement over the above results, which was surprising I thought.

The Swiss Ruag was designed for the 1 in 10" twist on the Sig 550, so it's not that surprising that it wouldn't perform optimally in a 1 in 7" twist.

As for the Tavor, it's not a target gun. 2MOA from a military grade semi-auto rifle is definitely acceptable. The biggest limitation is the trigger and barrel profile. It's a light, compact rifle designed for urban environments. If you get hung up on it being a sub MOA tack driver, save yourself a few dollars and get a bolt gun or a fancy AR.

Well, it shot very well in my other 1 x 7 twist rifles, so I would've thought it would have worked out here as well (too bad). Rifles can be finicky at times:(

In regards to the Swiss Ruag being designed for 1 x 10, are you sure about that?
In one of the Swiss clubs I used to shoot with, we had a mix of privately owned Classic greens and club PE 90 type club owned rifles with the different twists. The issued ammo (Raug) from Switzerland was the same 63 gr stuff given to everyone. It seemed to shoot well in either twist.

Yes rifles can be finicky with ammo at times. My Swiss Arms doesn't like 64gr Berger match/varmint bullets. No idea why.

As for the barrel twist thing, I just realized I made a mistake. The Swiss Army specified a 1 in 10" twist for the barrel because it was to shoot the 63gr GP90 ammunition, not the other way around like I originally stated. The 1 in 7" twist models were for export.

The Swiss did a fine tune with the 63gr RUAG on the Sig550 series rifles, all with 1:10 barrels of course, like stated above, the 1:7 barrels where for exports only with limited testing I assume, if so it would likely be aimed for the 62gr SS109.

With heavier bullets being more popular in some military circles (75-77 gr), I wonder if the Swiss will eventually phase in 1 x 7 twist barrels....or are they happy with the way things are?

A friend of mine bought the XCR-M this week.
It was a jam-o-matic till I turned down the gas adjustment but it didn't skip a beat after that.
CRAFM received 4 of them on Tuesday and they were all gone before the end of the day.

I think that was the main issue with the aftermarket barrels, the possibility of firing those heavier bullets & tracers which have raged in the US, Govt & private. the Swiss have no reason to kick the 63gr RUAG out, being sticklers I doubt they would venture out of the pasture when they've already achieved perfection with that particular round & the SIG550's series.

I would like to know if the Tavor shoots MOA or close with match & handloads..

Actually I don't think they are.
