Tavor and left hand bolt switch

I just bought a lightly used tavor on the EE. I have a left hand bolt coming for it.
Do I need to send it to iwi for the conversion? Or can I do it myself?

I have the tav tool but saw somewhere that iwi says the first time bolt swap from right to left needs to have head spacing checked. I don’t mind doing it myself but just don’t want to mess up the gun or warranty

The only thing thats easy to screw up is if you try to unlock the barrel before removing the charge handle/rod....found that out the hard way. Just follow that website, its really step by step. I used a fat flat screwdriver with a set of vise grips on it as a bbl wrench, probably not the best way but it worked.

Can't speak for the headspace thing, not saying you shouldn't check it, but I know I never checked it and Ive ran a couple thousand thru it since with no issues.

After a quick google search, it does look like a fair amount of people recommend it. maybe ask a smith.

Its easy enough to do it yourself. Buy or make the tool by grinding down a allen key on a grinder. Follow the instructions from the Tavor armourer manual.
