Tavor.. any chance it becomes restricted?

If it gets classed as anything it'll go prohibited, but that's only if the left get back into power. Being as that's inevitable, it would be nice if some of the Prohibition orders were resinded and the capacity to make more were removed under the current government. I'd sure put a MP5 to good usen as a hole punch.

I wish I could own an MP5, I love this firearm and which that we could all own them. If they ever decide to attack the Tavor the RFB wouldn't be far behind. I also made sure to buy it the week following the LGR dying.

I think that two or three years ago they could have tried to re-classify the Tavor. It would have been a hassle, but it could have been done.

Now? With the LGR dead, the escalating popularity of the rifle, and the current govt in power, it would be a massive campaign with little to no results.

I'm not a super confrontational person. I don't fight the government or even ##### that much. They say "you pay taxes" I pay taxes, they say "you need a license" and I get a license; all those good things.

But if they tried to make the argument that I needed to give up my Tavor, I would very seriously re-assess my involvement in Canadian society, because its such a ludicrous and bad idea.

if they where going to prohibit them they wouldve before the registry was toast. They where grumblings that the tavor, swiss arms, acr amongst others where going to be reclassified before the registry was turfed, never happened. It would be rather difficult for them to try now with the public knowing what they know, lack of resources to find the guns etc...

Don't forget a whole different angle on the Tavor -- as long as Canada remains good friends with Israel, and we likely will (and should), then our foreign policy decisions will always consider our good friend's interests, and our legislative decisions will always consider our good friend's businesses. Sales of the Tavor will not be threatened.

This is a really good point. The current government is staunchly pro-Israel (as demonstrated again today at the UN) and would be unlikely to make a move like that against a firearm that was 100% Israeli.

In fact, if we were really lucky, our continued support of the Israelis might turn into loosened import rules from Israel. CTAR barrels for everyone?

In reality, Mike from Canmore has a pretty extensive collection of approximately 7,107,807 non-restricted firearms, but I hear he is getting pretty antsy with them all and has been thinking of giving them to Chuck from Rimbey.

Mike's Brother Rick in Airdrie Just picked up mine ... must be a family thing . He was going to buy it from mike , but i guess mike gave it to chuck

+1 on this. I always laugh when guys bury a rifle, or disassemble it down to individual parts and then carefully hide each part.

That'll show them darn antis a thing or two! I still own a gun...I just can't access it or use it...but I beat the system 'cuz I'm soooo smart.

your so right its much better just to turn tail and give them anything they want with no fuss at all

at least if its buried it is still in your possesion ,to be dug up and used whenever the need arises, if the govmnt gets it ......paper clips are so much nicer:slap:
