tavor for ar trade

Ok...
1: Tavor is built like a facking tank, actually no it's built to be run over by a facking tank and still fire!
2: Since it's built like a tank, you don't need spare parts aside from the spare parts kits they sell at Brownells!
3: Do you right now at this moment actually own a Tavor?
4: If you do own a Tavor, Have you seen the action and the size of the moving parts? ITS BUILT LIKE A FACKING TANK!
5: Why are your even considering this, just go and buy an AR and keep your Tavor, a s&w AR is under 700!

Was just thinking this till I read your post well said.

The question I am having is x95 or TAR21...
x95 has a better trigger, handguard, ergonomics
TAR costs less and may be more accurate

not sure what I'm gonna get

If SHTF is an excuse to justify to the wife on buying new toys, I say go for it!!

At the end of the day, either AR or TAVOR will get the job done.

This ^^

Don't expect anything to break on the Tavor with regular use. You will probably be long dead and buried before things start to fail on it.

When the #### ultimately hits the fan I'll be easier to find parts for an ar than it would a tavor

I'm thinking of trading my tavor for an ar platform rifle.

Thoughts?

The tavor is heavy and the mag well doesnt drop easily.
When sheit hits the fan it won't matter if AR15 parts will be more readily available then a Tavor. There won't be enough parts out there to matter anyways. Simply put stores won't be open to sell them. So that leaves breaking into them. Have fun driving halfway across the province to break into a gunshop that was probably designed to not be easily broken into. Not all gunshops carry AR15's or spare parts. And this assuming you can still drive. If not have fun walking.

So that leaves people. I know a couple of guys with AR15's. I ain't gonna try to rob them. Good way of getting shot. Police and the military will be carrying them. After all its a sheit hits the fan scenario. I ain't gonna rob them either. Its a good way of getting shot.

Anyways in a SHTF sceneario you will never fire off enough rounds to need parts for a AR or a Tavor. If part availability keeps you up at night then buy your spare parts now for whatever rifle you choose. You will not be the hero from Fallout 4 scrounging the wastelands for parts.

Myself I would go with a Tavor. I would have zero hesitatation about its reliability.

I feel like we got trolled on this thread as the OP seemed to indicate he doesn't actually have a Tavor. Bottom line: for a SHTF scenario, I don't think it matters what you have. I wouldn't trade my TAR-21 for an AR, but I would trade my AR towards a TAR-21 (especially consdering TAR production is being phased put). I personally prefer the ergonomics on the TAR over the X95, but the X95 has a better handguard setup if you plan to run a vertical grip and other accessories.
