Tavor Gen x???

Hi

How do I check the generation of a Tavor?
Google was not my friend, found only information for Tavors 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0, and see people talking about a gen 2.5 that I cannot find anywhere on the internet.

1.0 - no rail, built-in sights
1.5 - short picatinny rail, with flip-up sight built into it
2.0 - full-length picatinny rail top, revised flip-up sights integrated into it
2.5 - same as 2.0, but with a revised trigger pack, and possibly other minor changes

This is my understanding, but I could be mistaken, and there could be other changes between generations that I'm not aware of. I had a 1.5, and currently have a 2.5

The Tavor itself is a "Gen 2"

The trigger pack is a version 1 that can be found in Gen 1, Gen 1.5, and Gen 2 Tavors. This trigger combined with the fact that it came out of a full length railed model defines yours as a Gen 2.
 
And to make it more confusing, my "Gen 2.x" had the original BCG and trigger pack, but was drilled for the 9mm conversion kit.

There appears not to be a defined "cut off" date, but rather a transition on modified parts, which makes sense to me based on parts availability. Use up what is in stock first.
