Tavor in GTA

They are good infantry rifles - but not good dedicated gun fighting rifles IMHO. Trigger is on the heavy side. It is very well balanced. I have the tendency to wrap my fingers around the edge of the handgurad -ok for the full length, not so ok with the C-version. The ergonomics of the fire control is the same as the AR which I like. LOP is too long for me in close range shooting stance -unless I use the traditional rifle hold. It will be out of question completely if I wear "body bubble wrap".

The Mepro21 - I think people know what I think of it. THe owner complained about sucking in the exhaust from the ejection port. The rifle itself is pretty solid - for a plastic gun, it is much more confidence inspiring than FN2000 and G36 (which I had owned in the past) and less toy like than some of the late FN products.

I definitely will want to sling this at the mall , over an M16A2.

Greentips nailed it spot on. It's an infantry rifle, not a gunfighter rifle. Mag changes are a bit slower due to not being able to release mags with your strong hand.

Exhaust gases seem to only bother me with certain ammo and on very calm days. We never have calm days in Sask. ;)

I wish.....I really wish (my genie lamp was on its last wish when I got the Tavor) that the Tavor had the option to mount a front vertical grip. To bring that little bad boy in, nice and tight would be great. In the meantime....I will rough it out....

AFAIK the new ones have the mount for the front rail/grip. They showed them to me when I was there earlier this year.

It is also a simple upgrade for the older guns.

It's in the works. Next item on the list.

I've got a bunch of product ideas for the Tavor I'm working on.

The reason is that the TAVOR has a LOP in the same league as the M16A2 - so think how you will shoot a M16A2 with a full length stock, but the barrel is reduced to 10.5".
