Tavor, long or short

the rx4 is a gas piston recoil system and is takes the lar 10 rd mags.
plus it can use ar stuff too.

now if we could put an m203 on it we'd be good to go :)

For me the Tavor is competing with the Swiss Arms CQB....short, relatively light weapon. However, the Tavor is unrestricted, has a longer barrel...better ballistics, and uses AR mags (10 rounds). Tough to decide!!!!
The 16" Tavor is restricted yet looks so cool. The longer barrel does gives it a more elegant look, like the AUG

We do have some !! Bushmasters !!! Questar has some and CRFAM has one in stock too for 2200 $ same price either place . Im saving myself for a LWRC , hopefully it wont be too long . Still waiting for the tavor to get here , cant wait .
 
Are there LWRC inbound?

I was reading in the US forums that the Bushmaster Gas Piston type rifles and the DSA and the other company which makes the piston all have suffered some breakages as well as the Bushie being kind of loose.

I did give it some serious thought but the more I'm reading about the Tavor, the better it looks. The unrestricted nature of it is very appealing.

After the advice others have given here, the SIG CQB is out, barrel is just too short with all the attendant problems that creates.

The Swiss Arms CQB is too short for what??? As a restricted firearm, its strictly a range gun anyway. No problem hitting gongs at 200 & 300 yards with mine! How much further are you planning on shooting? At 50-100 yards and using an EoTech, you'd be amazed at just how accurate these rifles are! In terms of quality and durability, I'd put the CQB up against the TAVOR anyday. The only drawback to the CQB that I see is the noise it generates. Short barrel rifles are noisy. Same goes for my shorty AR-15s. However, plugs & muffs manage to kill the roar of a .458 Win Mag for me, so they kinda' take care of the muzzle blast of a .223 too.

For me, the only way the CQB could be better, would be for the Feds to make it non-restricted. :) (not holding my breath on that one!) As for the TAVOR, being non-restricted (long bbl version) is certainly an advantage, however, I still think I'd much prefer a Swiss Arms Classic Green or Black Special if I wanted a rifle that I could carry in the bush and still pot a coyote or two. I'll probably end up picking up a TAVOR eventually, but I'll probably be waiting until the price comes down with the option of not purchasing the stock Red Dot sight that comes with it now.

Dude....extend the stock on yer 14.5" AR.....that will REALLY show the difference!!!...take another pic!!!

+1! I'd still choose a Swiss Arms in the non-restricted category, but most likely will end up picking up a Tavor for it's a unique and exotic black rifle. A must have for any collector, but I will take one in a restricted (original) length.

probubly, i dont care i seem drawn to it for some reason i cant explane,
atleast i iwont be bidding aganst strangeday and the rest of you for one so it should stay in my price range :runaway::pirate: i like to stand out :feedTroll::yingyang:
 
You will not have to bid against anyone. Order one and we will supply it. For this first order we are not really bringing many in for "stock" just to supply preorders.
 
Hey, thanks for all the opinions fellows.

I have preordered the Non-restricted Tavor.

May have to sell my fullsize PE90....never liked that one as much as the PE90 carbine!!!

I think what he was getting at was the fact that with such a short barrel, it makes minimum fragmentation velocities difficult if not impossible to obtain. So were you to ever need to use the CQB against zombies at anything above and beyond close quarters you will only be poking pencil sized holes in them. At least that was my interpretation of what the poster said.
 
I really like the look and design of the Tavor. I'll probably look at getting one in a year or two. At the moment I want to work on building an SL8 to look like a G36 rifle. Fun times!

That is why in Zombat shot placement is key.
 
Y'know, there is a scheduled Zombie Walk in Edmonton on Sunday. We might have to go down and practice our shot placement skills in a real time/real world setting. :D

I have all the stuff from "Zombie Survival Guide" and " World War Z" running through my head after reading them again!!!!!
