looking at putting a viper pst 1-4 on my tavor just wondering if anyone has tried any of the ar 15 mounts that bring the scope ahead further and just turning the mount backwards to bring the scope closer any ideas appreciated pics are a plus

Depends on which rail your Tavor has. Some are lower or higher than others.

With the factory upgrade rail any AR mount should work. I have a Burris PEPR quick release with a 3-9x fullfield 2 that I set up for my RFB. I put this in my Tavor a few weeks ago and it was perfect.

How about this?

ive got the factory upgraded rail it came with the mepro 21 sight that was removeable also whats this sight worth i find it kinda useless for a rifle as it s a big dot woul make an awsome shotgun sight but already have a holosight on my 12 guage so listed the m21 in the ee

This is what it looks like with the Burris quick release mount. Sorry iphone pictures. Also the mount/scope is set up for my RFB. If this were a Tavor only setup I'd have the quick release pointing forward, the scope further back and the mount further forward. It looks decent like this, but it would look perfect if it was set up specifically for the Tavor.

I'm running an ACOG on the Rauch Tactical mount. The Rauch mount is great because it extends about 3 inches further back then most other mounts. Came in very handing when mounting night vision.

That's the exact same plan I have for mine! I've got the scope already. you can see it on an ADM mount here, but my Tavor is taking longer than I originally intended. expect a full review with lots of pics when I actually get everything up and running.

nice set up epoxy7 looks like the vortex mount i want should work perfectly only iam gonna reverse the mount so the scope will set back a bit further and ill be able to centre the bell of the scope evenly between the rings. how do you find that set up for height any problems with a good chhek weld

It seems good. The scope can be perfectly centered, and the quick release levers pointing forward the way they are supposed to. I have it set up this way for the RFB and only because your hand would hit the quick release levers when using the charging handle on the RFB if it wasn't set up like this. It works this way very well on the RFB. It could be set up exactly as you have mentioned without turning it backwards on the Tavor. There's plenty of real estate for this mount on either rifle. With the Tavor the charging handle isn't an issue.

Eye height, cheek weld etc are very good. It's easy to get a good sight picture. I hope to try it out at the range in a couple of days. But just set up I was pleasantly surprised. Also the Burris quick release mounts are good quality and less expensive than some of the other comparable.
