I've owned both, first the xcr then the tavor. I was very used too shooting "traditional" style rifles like c7 and xcr so I was very fast at snap shooting and transitions and stuff like that. It took me a LONG time and a lot of rounds to get used to the tavor. I'm still slower with a tavor I think but I'm not a competition shooter so I don't care.
The rifles themselves are both reliable (new xcr's) and I think they weigh almost the same. The guys who say the xcr is too front heavy with a heavy barrel should just suck it up or buy a lighter rifle. Its honestly nothing my girlfriend loved the xcr and she never b!tched once about the weight.
My xcr was slightly more accurate than my tavor. Xcr had average of about 2" @100yards and the tavor is 2.5-3" bothe with American eagle 55gr. Never bothered to try other ammo as bench shooting with a semi auto black rifle is a) pointless (other than zeroing) and b) the most boring possible use for a rifle of this type.
In the end I'm 50/50 I love both rifles and like others have stated, try to get some time behind both or at least shoulder them.
You say you actually OWNED both, yet you consider yourself qualified to make such a review??
One of the fairest assessments I have read.

Your girlfriend obviously doesn't have a CGN account!

I couldn't agree more.
