With the launch of the SAR-21 in the US market, parts and accessories manufacturers are climbing onboard the Tavor train in increasing numbers. Hopefully most of this new kit will be TAR-21 friendly as well. That said, I came across this new ambi safety lever by Manticore that looks pretty interesting. What do you guys think? I have no idea if it cross-compatible between the SAR and TAR.

The Lever, Upgraded Metal Ambidextrous (LUMA) from Manticore Arms is a drop-in replacement for the single-side polymer lever and indicator that come from the factory on IWI US Tavor SAR bullpup rifles. Available in two thicknesses, medium and slim, LUMAs can be installed on either or both sides of the rifle. The U.S.-made levers are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a black anodized finish and are easy to install on the dovetailed ends of the Tavor’s factory safety spindle using a small pin punch or paper clip.

I notice that the SAR-21s and current Canadian imports have much softer safeties than my old girl.

I don't really feel like I'd use an ambidextrous safety, but I'm glad its available!

The attachment is identical on either side, so it's basically just two safeties. Since the lever is so close to where your index finger wraps around the grip, I could see it getting in the way when set to "fire" as well.

When I got my copy of American Riflemen the other day I saw this too and immediately thought I wanted to giv'er a try because as TVPP said the new ones are pretty light and feel cheap as #### to me. It was my only complaint about my Tavor thus far. I think i'll order one of these and try it out.

I wouldn't have much use for this. It would probably get in the way. My Tavor is dated April 17 2013. The safety on it now feels excellent. Absolutely no slop or play in it, and the click is very positive when switching between S and F.
Sill though, I'm happy to see some more aftermarket upgrades for the Tavor.
